How Payments Work

Card payments#

Card payments run through licensed on-ramp providers such as MoonPay, Transak, Revolut or Ramp. The provider handles the card, 3-D Secure and compliance checks. PayLio picks the provider (or lets the customer pick) and tracks the payment until it is settled.

   You create a payment

   From the dashboard, a plugin or the API. PayLio returns a hosted checkout URL and a short link such as paylio.org/p/a8wB3v4R.

   The customer pays

   The customer opens the checkout, chooses a provider (unless you fixed one) and pays with card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

   The provider settles in USDC

   The provider converts the payment and sends USDC on Polygon directly to your wallet. The PayLio fee is split off in the same transaction, so there is no separate payout step.

   PayLio confirms

   The payment is marked paid, appears in your dashboard, and a signed payment.paid event is sent to your webhook.

Direct crypto payments#

For crypto, PayLio creates a unique deposit address for each payment. When the deposit arrives, the payment is marked paid and the funds are forwarded in the same coin, on the same network, to your wallet minus the crypto fee. What PayLio does not do#

• PayLio does not hold balances. There is nothing to withdraw; funds go straight to your wallet.
• PayLio does not store card data. Cards are handled entirely by the on-ramp provider.
• On-chain payouts cannot be reversed. Refunds are sent manually from your own wallet.
